My Sunset in Makalu (Climb High!)

I’ve been with Accenture almost a year and a half now (and still counting) =D

My journey began when I was assigned to a mountain project named “MAKALU”.

It was February 02, 2010 at 04:30 am when I started working for ACN, as a BPO associate.

Everything was “NEW” back then.

The company, people, environment, experiences, learnings and so on.

Our first meeting was held at room 11** located on the 11th floor of Cybergate1 building.

We were about 30+ newly hired for this project. A whole batch of fresh faces came from different places. We were called “BATCH 2” processors.

We all became “FRIENDS”.

The days passed quickly. Two months of classroom training-like period has ended.

We learned so many things about the process and we're all ready to move to the next level.

We have to face the real world.

Being an analyst was not as easy as I thought it would be.

I still remember my first day on the production floor; it was located on the 12th floor of the building.

I had mixed emotions, I was excited but at the same time, I was afraid.

I was excited to explore the project, to participate, to listen and to meet new people!

But… I was also afraid of how I would handle new responsibilities and how I would deal with my new colleagues. I had so many “what-if” questions at that time.

Thanks all to GOD, I’ve been over it.

Days, weeks and months had passed. I was assigned to different functions and became part of different teams.

From doing an entry, adjudication to adjustment of claims.

I was also assigned in reports creation and audits.

I’d understood what metrics should be met, the quality over quantity, the financial and processing scores.

I’d learned different terminologies; some of these are a quota, targets, error findings, checklists, SLAs and many more.

Every day, I was more exposed to stress, loneliness, boredom, and of course the never-ending HAPPINESS.

It was on my 5th month when the management announced that the project’s contract was going to end by the following year and many of us will be rolling off and transferring to different projects.

We’re about 300+ connected with the project; imagine that headcount, so huge!

It was a shocking announcement!

Everyone was surprised that takes only a few moments because we all thought that transferring will be happening next year (was only in the middle of the year that time) .

We continue to work just what we always do, not thinking of what could happen to us on the next days or months.

We just enjoy every moment together.

It was on BER months when the management started transferring processors, some were aware of it, some were oblivious of it.
We only noticed one thing; workforce from 300 has dwindled to a few 200.

Welcome, 2011. Happy NEW YEAR!

I haven't yet felt the awkward moment of feeling empty until the management announced that a huge batch of my workmates will be going to move to a new project effective April 01, 2011.

I was shocked and saddened to hear that two of my closest mates were listed and had to join them.

They had to leave not only the project but also ME.

Yes, I cried. I just can’t hide my feelings. I feel empty even though I still have other friends on the floor.

But we all have to move forward…

Friends are still friends no matter what happens. So true!

Thinking positively, I continue working.

Every month was so hard for me maybe because I just can’t accept the fact that they have to leave me behind. I was not ready.

I pretend to be happy every time there's someone needs to say goodbye.

The month of May, June and July were the hardest. Only a few of us left. From hundreds, down to fifties, and then down to twenties.

Every day we became closer. They’re my second shift family.

I continue to be happy. I need to and thankfully managed to be happy even without them.

I miss them so much. I miss the laughter, nonsense jokes, and stories. I miss the days we’re together.

It was last July when the management announced that I was going to transfer to a new project
effective August 01, 2011.

Of course, I felt excitement. Everything will be new again.

But I will surely miss my MAKALU project. I am so proud and happy that I became part of this project.

MAKALU - February 02, 2010 – July 30, 2011: kMolino is now signing off.

Distress: Leave me alone :(

Tanduay ice plus chocolates plus chips creates a spectacular mood! wohohoho!

A bottle of it solved my feeling of distress.. choz! emo!

Before I start writing my second blog I just want to warn everyone who'd happen to read this by accident or by intention, going through the end of this story will make you think that I am being shallow about what’s happening to my life. You can bear with it or just stop reading while you still have time :)

I don't know where to start..

All I know is “I need to” release it out so I can feel better..

I am anxious about things, I am tired, Yes! Being choosy is bad and it’s wrong how i questioned what kind of life has given me.

But come to think of it, do I really deserve this? this situation I am into.. this feeling of distress.. What did I do to deserve this???

I’m not perfect (I know okay?) in case your eyebrow raised because of my last statement/question.

I mean, I have done no harm to anyone (the last time I checked hehe), all my life I’ve been good (WTH sung by avril lavigne), hehe seriously I would never intend to hurt someone’s feelings.

How? Why? and Why again? - Familiar right? these are some words that running on our mind when something not right is happening or if something was not happened the way we wanted it to be. A feeling of annoyance filled our hearts. Some say it’s normal but still we cannot control our hatred or grudges, so are these questions to come out.

By the way, this blog is not about questioning GOD. NEVER. So leave HIM out of this. WE do not have the right to question HIM (we’re here alive because of him, instill that in your heart and mind like I always do). When i said “WE” I mean US, all of us but ofcourse considering those anti-Christ, I have them excluded. ;)

Stressed. Distressed. Anxious. Annoyed. Confused.

I’ll let it all out.

I’m emo!... okay... fine...

If that’s what you think of me, Just be with it. just go with it. that’s it! that’s it! hehe.. I sound better right?? okay, I am a little bit crazy.. haaayst.. :)

What I am feeling right now is not about my family. I think so, it is my conviction. Aside from god THEY’re my strength. I have a perfect, wonderful and awesome family! Ooops, don’t get me wrong, I know there is no such thing as “perfect family” but there’s always an exception to the rule. Just forgive me for being exaggerated. If you want I’ll just rephrase my statement from “perfect” to “almost perfect”. Deal? So to conclude this, my family is now eliminated in what causes my depression.

My family was already crossed out. Let’s talk about my WORKlife. hmmm.. Should i really discuss it here? hehehe... I know what you’re thinking and you guessed it right! A big YAY for you! :) Well, it seems that I already gave a clue to what I am trying to imply. It is kinda obvious. No offense to my current company (still my dream company until now and I am really proud being here) but these past few days I don’t know why I am being like this. Waaa really sorry to the management but I think there’s something "wrong". I just don’t understand why we are being treated like this. I won’t expound each of it but yeah atleast I’ve already said it. I love my company, I always enjoy being with my friends and what I love the most is when the management recognize US not because we’re good but because WE are worthy to be recognized. I love those times when they’re not being biased on every decisions Oh well.. I love it when all of us (from lower rank to highest) are being receptive and cognizant to other people's feelings.

I know some people won't understand what I am saying, well... just leave your opinion to yourself and I will leave mine here. Fair enough... :)

Stay happy.

Always remember, "Everything happens for a reason".

Everything is in GOD's plan.
